Over the summer we’ve been working to improve the audio-visual services provided across campus:
Fusion Building Atrium
The Fusion Building Atrium now has a dedicated sound system and large screen which is perfect for events, presentations, playing music and NERVE Radio on open days. Microphones can be added for amplified sound.
Seminar and agile teaching room upgrades
We’ve now completed upgrades to all central seminar rooms in the Executive Business Centre (EBC), Christchurch House and Poole Gateway Building, bringing them in line with previous improvements. Each room features a modern, powerful and secure control processor with a custom touch screen interface—making them easier to use and offering more control options.
Watch the new User Interface (UI) video tutorial.
New features include:
- USB-C video inputs for device charging
- Enhanced audio systems for lecture capture.
Learn more about lecture capture on the AV website.
Faculty-owned teaching space updates
Faculty-owned rooms in Christchurch House and Dorset House have also been upgraded with new push-button control systems, replacing outdated units. These rooms now support USB-C laptop inputs but do not include lecture capture hardware.
Lecture theatre audio enhancements
All main lecture theatres now have tabletop microphones to support lecture capture and improve voice projection.
- Mics can be muted/unmuted via the mic or touchscreen
- Lees and Marconi lecture theatres now include extra speakers for better sound
- Touch panels now support switching between stereo and surround sound.
Audio-Visual (AV) website improvements
The AV site now features an interactive room finder! Filter by room type, location, and lecture capture availability. Click a room name to view equipment details, photos, and training resources.
