You reported feeling respected and included in your learning and more confident in your subjects having completed semester one units, according to the Unit Feedback Survey.
Thank you for taking the time to complete your semester one Unit Feedback Survey. Your useful feedback has helped us understand what you value and where we can continually improve the learning experience for you and other students in semester two.
Professor Niamh Downing, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost shares “Feeling confident, included, and part of a learning community matters to your experience at university. Your feedback helps us understand where we are doing well and where we need to improve. We are committed to acting on what you’ve told us, and to making sure you can see how your feedback is shaping learning, teaching, and the wider student experience.”
We received 4,029 responses from 2,881 students on taught programmes (foundation up to Master's). This represents a survey response rate of 13%.
Over the coming weeks your programme and unit leaders will review your responses and share an update with you on Brightspace in the “Student voice” area of your programme community. This will identify themes from your feedback, celebrate what is working well and explore actions we will take as we enter semester two.
Dr Shelley Thompson, Dean of Education and Student Experience, shares “Your voice plays an important role in shaping learning and teaching at BU. The unit feedback survey is one of several ways students work in partnership with staff, alongside the Students’ Union, programme representatives, students on university committees, and ongoing dialogue within units and programmes. Together, this helps us understand what’s working well and where we need to work with students to continually improve.”
