We also have procedures in place to process requests for other information, including requests for your own information.

Complaints

If you are still not happy with the response received you must make a formal written complaint (request for an internal review) to our Information Office. You can use our Information Request Form (pdf 347kb) or email: [email protected] or write to the Information Office: Information Office, Bournemouth University, 6th Floor Studland House, 12 Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH1 3NA.

The Information Office will aim to respond to you within 20 working days of receipt of your complaint. If the Information Office dealt with the original request, your complaint will be referred to our Chief Operating Officer or their nominated alternate for review.

If you are still dissatisfied with our response, you may make an appeal to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Insurance Claims Guidance – Claims Portal

If a claim is being made for personal injury through a solicitor, your solicitor will need to know that for claims made via the "Claims Portal" Bournemouth University and its subsidiaries are insured by:

U M Association Ltd.

Our claims portal reference is UM044/99.

To avoid confusion and delays, users of the claims portal should enter the compensator's name in full and include the spaces after the U and M so the online system is able to correctly identify the compensator.
