The Sir Michael Cobham Library is situated at the heart of our Talbot Campus and is where you will find our largest collection of printed resources. As well as its extensive reference collections, it is also home to over 300 PCs, several bookable study rooms and technobooths, over 1,000 study spaces, a dedicated postgraduate study area, and three silent study floors. You'll find printers, photocopiers and scanners on every floor, as well as self-service machines where you can loan or return books, pay library fines and carry out a range of other transactions.
A number of support services are based within the library building, including:
- a Help Zone for library, IT and askBU enquiries
- Faculty library teams, who can assist you with subject-specific requests
- Additional Learning Support service.
We have done our best to make this space as accessible and versatile as possible. In addition to our desktop computers, there are numerous powerpoints for laptops, and we have adjustable height desks to ensure wheelchair users are comfortable when working on our computers or at our study spaces.
You can find out more about the resources housed in The Sir Michael Cobham Library on our What's where page.
