Over the past few years, we have spoken to you about the range of skills, knowledge, and personal attributes you want to develop whilst at university. To reflect your feedback and improve our offer, The Global Talent Programme (GTP) will undergo an exciting rebrand this summer.
The aim of the rebrand is to make the resources currently available under the Global Talent Programme name and portal more accessible and embedded into the platforms you already use, such as Brightspace and MyCareerHub, in line with the BU2025 Fusion approach.
Although we will be relaunching with a programme similar to the current Global Talent Programme, the new offer will have different requirements making it hard to make a direct comparison between the two. This means that we cannot transfer evidence or progress between the current and new programme.
More detailed information about what the new exciting extracurricular offer will look like in September will be shared over the coming months. In the meantime, there are a few important things you need to know:
What this means for you
From today the Global Talent Programme are not accepting any new students for the rest of this academic year.
The Global Talent Programme in its current format will continue as normal until 31 July 2021 for those of you in the process of completing your GTP Award. We recommend that you aim to complete by Friday 28 May, so that you can celebrate your achievement at our online awards celebration on Wednesday 2 June. All Global Talent Programme Awards must be completed before 30 July 2021.

Global Talent Programme online celebration event
On Wednesday 2 June 2021, between 12:00 – 1:15pm we are hosting an online award celebration for students that completed the GTP Award over the last two years. The celebration will include messages of congratulations from senior members of BU staff as well as a range of employers who have delivered sessions throughout the academic year. This event is an excellent opportunity to recognise your success, network with employers and find out about the range of opportunities available to you. To be invited, you must complete your GTP Award by Friday 28 May 2021.
