Clean Sport Week is UKAD’s (UK Anti-Doping) national awareness week, championing fair play, integrity and drug-free sport across the UK.
This year’s Clean Sport Week takes place 11–17 May and carries the powerful theme ‘Built not bought. 100% me.’. The theme celebrates athletes who achieve true, lasting success through hard work, talent and commitment – not shortcuts.
Clean Sport Week 2026 comes at a critical time for sport and physical activity. There is growing concern across the sporting and fitness community about the marketing and availability of Image and Performance Enhancing Drugs (IPEDs) online, including Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs). Increasing amounts of online content are targeting young people with misleading claims that SARMs are ‘safer alternatives to anabolic steroids’. This is not the case. SARMs are dangerous, not approved for human consumption, and are banned in sport.
UKAD is using Clean Sport Week to shine a light on this misinformation and to remind athletes and active people not to risk their health, career and reputation by taking prohibited substances. A strong culture of clean sport is essential for the long-term health and wellbeing of athletes at all levels.
Throughout the week, Clean Sport Week will spotlight athlete voices and real stories, highlighting the dedication, resilience and passion it takes to succeed while keeping clean sport at the heart of the journey. You can expect educational resources, digital content, athlete stories and campaign messaging designed to challenge myths around performance-enhancing drugs and reinforce positive, values-driven choices.
You can hear these stories by following @ukantidoping on TikTok or Facebook.
We encourage anyone in our sporting community that would like to learn more about anti-doping to sign up to UKAD’s Clean Sport Hub where there are free education courses for athletes, students, coaches and practitioners.
As an organisation, BU is fully committed to supporting and promoting clean sport in the UK and you can find out how we intend to do this on our website.
