That’s why we’re pleased to offer a number of undergraduate studentships - available to current first and final students on particular courses - designed to ease the pressure and help you get the most out of your studies. These awards don’t just provide funding — they give you the chance to focus on your learning, develop your skills, and make the most of university life.
The studentships available are:
- Tourism Studentship – for one final-year student
- Sports Studentship – for one final-year student
- Cyber Security Studentship – for one female first-year student
- Physiotherapy Pathway Studentship for one first-year student
- Healthcare Pathway Studentship for two first-year students (priority given to male students)
- Engineering Pathway Studentship for three first-year students (priority given to female students)
- Creative Assembly Scholarship for two first-year students (priority given to those from a black, Asian or other minority ethnic background, or identify as female).

Tourism Studentship for final-year student
This fund is a £6,000, one-off payment, available to support one student entering the final year of one the following courses in September 2025:
• BA (Hons) Tourism Management
• BA (Hons) International Tourism & Hospitality Management
• BA (Hons) International Tourism & Business Management.
The fund has been provided by a BU graduate who has gone on to lead a successful career in tourism and who wishes to give back by supporting current students.
To apply, you need to be paying home fees and either come from a household with an income of £25,000 a year or less, or be facing other challenges that could affect your studies.

AFC Bournemouth Studentship for final-year student
The AFC Bournemouth Studentship has been launched to provide one student from a low-income household, on sport-related degree programmes, with funding and career support.
The studentship is open to home fee-paying students now in their final year of one of the following programmes:
- BSc (Hons) Sport Management
- BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching
- BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy.
It will offer one student:
- A non-repayable £1,500 grant
- Career and professional development to include opportunities for work shadowing, informal mentorship and involvement in AFC Bournemouth events and activities.
For the purposes of this studentship, a low-income household is £25,000 or less. However, if your household income exceeds this but there are other factors that you feel might prove a barrier to you achieving your degree, please let us know via the application form.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an informal meeting with AFC Bournemouth representatives prior the final award being made.

ESET Studentship for female first-year student
The ESET Women in Cyber Studentship aims to encourage more female students to consider a career in cyber security, by offering a £5,000 studentship and hardware package to one female student. We welcome applications from female home-fee-paying school leavers enrolling on one of the following courses:
- BSc (Hons) Cyber Security Management
- BSc (Hons) Cyber Security with Digital Forensics
- BSc (Hons) Networks and Cyber Security.
The studentship is a one-off payment, provided by security company, ESET. You can find out more information on their website.

Physiotherapy Pathway Studentship for first-year student
The Gittens Family Charitable Trust Bursary provides a non-repayable grant of £1,000 a year (for three years), to one student enrolling on the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy in September 2025.
The bursary is provided by The Gittins Family Charitable Trust, which partners with universities to support those preparing for careers in manufacturing and healthcare.
Students applying to the bursary should be home fee paying, with a household income of between £25,000 and £50,000 per year.

This bursary provides a non-repayable grant of £1,000 a year (for three years), to two students who have enrolled on the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing course, starting in September 2025.
The bursary is provided by The Gittins Family Charitable Trust, which partners with universities to support those preparing for careers in manufacturing and healthcare.
Students applying to the bursary should be home fee paying, with a household income of between £25,000 and £50,000 per year. While the bursary is open to students of any gender, priority will be given to male nursing students to help promote greater diversity in the industry.

Creative Assembly Scholarship
A partnership between the National Centre for Computer Animation (NCCA) and award-winning games studio, Creative Assembly, is providing two students on the BA (Hons) Computer Animation and Visualisation course, with a £3,000 a year scholarship, together with mentoring and career support.
To be eligible, you should be a UK-based (home fee paying) student, and meet one of the following criteria:
• Have a combined household income of less than £40,000, or
• Be from a black, Asian or other minority ethnic background, or
• Identify as female.
