Global BUddies matches new UK and international BU students in to small groups, led by our Global BUddies Group Leaders who are current students. It's great fun, and a brilliant opportunity to get to know Bournemouth with people who are like-minded but different from you, and help you learn what makes the world go round.

You'll have the chance to get involved with large social events for all our Global BUddies throughout the year, as well as get to know your group better by taking part in smaller, regular activities organised by your Group Leader.

We'll help you build a network of new friends from all over the world, improve your understanding of cultural differences and learn how to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. You will also earn badges towards the Global Talent Programme as you'll be developing important skills that your future employers will really value.

Applications to Global BUddies are open all year round.
We review applications and allocate new Global BUddies to an existing group at the beginning of each month.
If your application has been accepted, we will contact you with the details of your Global BUddies group. Your Group Leader will then get in touch with you directly.

So visit the Global BUddies Application 2018 page to join the Global BUddies scheme. Any questions? Contact us or visit the Frequently Asked Questions.

Wesley Schulte, BU student

“Global BUddies is about maintaining an open mind and expanding your horizons. It’s finally asking if that’s really how they do it “over there.” It’s breaking through stereotypes, and sometimes finding out what is believed about your own culture can be quite funny and surprising.”

“I believe Global BUddies is a perfect opportunity to meet people from different cultures and understand each other by embracing and celebrating the differences between us.”
