We work with Health & Social Sciences programmes across the faculty to identify meaningful ways that service users and carers can contribute to the assessment of students’ work. Examples include:

  • Reading and providing feedback on practice portfolios about how well the service user and carer perspective has been incorporated
  • Contributing to assessment panels of student presentations
  • In a mental health unit, students are required to apply theory to practice by exploring a person’s life experiences, mental health or substance use as portrayed in one of a number of autobiographies from an approved list.
