Providing guidance in religion and faith

Find out more about our Chaplains

Whether you have a faith or not the Chaplaincy at BU supports all students. A Chaplain is someone from a faith perspective who offers hospitality, care, guidance and a willingness to journey with you through your programme. We provide a space for staff and students to relax and unwind, while exploring the world of spirituality - and enjoying some refreshments at the same time! Whatever your ethnic background, and whatever your faith, we offer an open door policy, providing a spiritual meeting place with pastoral care and support. We ensure a personal approach in a fast, increasingly impersonal world. If you're looking for a place to worship, pray or just ask questions, we're here to offer care and support along the way. For more information please read the Religion and Belief Policy.

At the Bournemouth University multi-faith Chaplaincy, you can:

  • Talk to a Chaplain in confidence about personal matters
  • Be put in touch with local faith communities and places of worship
  • Explore the concept of religious faith and its implications for justice and peace
  • Join a group for prayer, study or fellowship
  • Ask questions about life issues.

The multi-faith Chaplaincy is based on both of Bournemouth University's campuses.

Talbot Campus

The Chaplaincy is located on the first floor of Talbot House, Talbot Campus. The centre is open between 8.00am - 9.00pm from Monday to Friday and there is a Chaplain on duty most days from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Weekend access is available on request. We have a room set aside for those wishing to reflect and pray, as well as an Islamic prayer room with wash facilities. We also provide two computers and Wi-Fi for those who wish to bring their own laptops. There is also a meeting room that can be booked-out on a weekly basis.

Lansdowne Campus

We have an office on Lansdowne Campus in room BG04, Bournemouth House and also a prayer room. There is a drop in session in BG04 on Thursdays between 12:00pm and 4:00pm, students are also welcome to make appointments outside of these hours.

Global Café for International Students
