We offer a request service called Inter Library Loans for items not held in our own print or electronic collections. It is mainly for staff and postgraduate students and for undergraduate students working on a major project or dissertation at Level 6 (Level H).

Inter Library Loans are not available to be requested by Levels 4 and 5, which are first- and second-year undergraduates.

Requests may take between 1 and 6 weeks to arrive depending on time of year and whether there is a waiting list. Materials that are more difficult to locate may take longer than 6 weeks.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to obtain a requested item or when supplied items will arrive. Inter Library Loans are reliant on other libraries having the item in stock and willing to lend before we can request. We advise customers to place Interlibrary Loan requests as far in advance as possible.

Please remember you are responsible for any item loaned to you and you will be liable for any replacement cost if the book is damaged or lost.

Requests for inter library loans will not be processed if you have any library books overdue or charges outstanding.

If you need any further guidance, please contact a member of the Inter Library Loans team.
