You may wish to continue to access the University Library's resources whilst you are away on placement, whether in the UK or overseas.
Electronic resources
You can access most of our electronic resources (e-journals, e-books and databases) off campus via the library's webpages or the library area in Brightspace.
In accordance with licence agreements, our electronic resources can only be used for research relating to course-work or your dissertation and not for any project undertaken on behalf of your placement employer.
Further information is available on the mySearch library resources page.
Borrowing library materials
While on placement you can continue to borrow items, providing you can return them on time. The library is unable to post books to you.
Photocopies of articles borrowed through the Inter Library Loans service can be supplied and posted on request to any students embarking on research for their final year projects or dissertations.
Help and advice
For advice on accessing resources, or for help in planning your final year dissertation, please contact your Faculty Library Team.
Library and information skills sessions are also available throughout your course, including mid-placement seminars, and will be a source of useful advice.
Clinical placements
If you are on a clinical placement you will probably have access to a hospital library.
