Corfe House

Corfe House is owned and operated by BU's accommodation partner, Student Roost, who will be your landlord and you will pay your rent to them and not BU. Any queries or issues you might have during your time will be dealt with by Student Roost's dedicated on-site team.

Student Roost has signed Corfe House up to The National Code, which has been developed to encourage the highest possible standards of student accommodation provided by large private operators. Find out more about the code and how it benefits you.

ResLifeBU is an exclusive programme, only available in BU accommodation, designed to help you enjoy your time in student accommodation to the fullest. 

Our ResLifeBU Team supports you across three core areas:

• Social – providing inclusive activities and events to help you meet your fellow students and build a great community
• Wellbeing – supporting your welfare, health, safety and overall comfort and security
• Skills – everything you need for your new independent life, from how to keep your flat clean, to cooking an affordable and healthy meal and tips on managing your budget

£1.75 of your weekly rent goes towards the funding of the programme – but if you make the most of it, you’ll find it’s worth so much more than that.

• It’s just a short walk from Corfe to a bus stop where you can catch the U2 bus to reach both our campuses, or the M1 or M2 buses to travel to Bournemouth town centre and our Lansdowne Campus. Your bus pass is included in your rent so you can use these services as much as you need throughout the year, although you can opt out of this if you choose
• There are also night buses running between Bournemouth and Poole on Fridays and Saturdays, making it easy for you to get home after a night out
• And if you like to get around by bike, there’s a secure bike shelter situated right outside the building exit
• There is no car parking available at Corfe House, except for Blue Badge holders.

Your bedroom and common room has high-speed wifi for work and play.

All of your bills are included in your weekly rent so you have nothing further to pay.

As well as having CCTV in the building and secure access, there is also a Corfe House team member onsite 24 hours a day to provide any help you might need.

The onsite team includes a maintenance operative who will be able to respond and resolve any faults for you in a timely manner.

There is also a ResLifeBU Team who are on hand if you have any wellbeing concerns and they also organise regular social events (see ResLifeBU below).

The laundrette at Corfe House charges £3.80 per wash and £2.30 for the dryers.

Students have shared and joint liability for all communal areas within their flat such as corridors, shared bathrooms (for non-ensuite accommodation) and kitchens, and must keep them clean, tidy and in good condition at all times. They must keep their rooms and ensuites clean and damage free.

When you’re ready to book a room, you can do so via our Accommodation Portal. 

Once you have reserved your room via our Accommodation Portal we will pass your details over to Student Roost, who will then send you further information on how to go on to book and secure your room. Your accommodation contract and rent payments will then be with Student Roost, who own and operate Corfe House.
