From 6 January 2021, you’ll be invited to register for your course online. You must complete online registration in order to receive your student email address and access Brightspace, an online tool used to engage with your course. It is important to complete your registration before 22 January, so you are prepared to start your course.
This invitation will be sent to the email address used throughout your application process, and will also include the time, date and location of your first session at BU, so it is worth saving as a favourite or taking a screen shot for future use.
Registration involves checking that your contact and course information is correct as well as telling us how you intend to pay for your tuition fees, so make sure you have all your documents regarding any funding support before you start. You will also be asked a few questions about when you plan to arrive in Bournemouth, this information will be used to support your arrival.
It takes about 20-30 to complete, but you don’t need to complete this process in one go, you can save and return as and when you need to.
After completing your online registration, you will be prompted to enrol onto your course. It is important that you complete your online enrolment before the start date of your course.
When completing your online enrolment, you will need to refer to the following:
- Proof of your identity: Photo ID such as a passport or driving licence to collect your keys to your accommodation (and bus pass if you’ve requested one) and enrol on your course
- Educational qualifications: Original certificates for the qualifications required for your course (e.g. BTEC, A-level, degree, English language qualification) and official translations if not originally in English
- NHS or HPC professional courses: Original Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) certificate
- Tier 4 student Visa: In order to organise your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) once you're in the UK you will need your passport including your entry clearance sticker plus the letter you received from the Home Office with your visa (view a sample).
Your registration email will include any additional requirements linked to your offer, so please check that for this information.
Student Agreement, BU regulations and policies
When you register online, you will also be asked to read, and sign up to, the 2020/21 version of the BU Student Agreement. A copy of the BU Student Agreement 2019/20 was provided in your offer letter so there may have been updates by the time you register, so please take the time to read it - a summary of any changes made will also be available for you to check too.
You can access and download both the current and archived versions of the Student Agreement, alongside all our policies and procedures, on our important information webpages.
