When you join us as a student at BU, you must collect your student ID card or get your international documents checked to complete your enrolment. If you’re joining us in January 2026, you need to do this as soon as possible, as you won’t be able to start your timetabled teaching sessions until you have completed this.

Completing in-person enrolment from Monday 9 to Wednesday 25 February
If you're a January 2026 starter and need to collect your student card or have your documents checked, please visit The Hub on the ground floor of Poole House, Talbot Campus.
You can drop in between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Thursday, or 9am to 3pm on Fridays.
Please note: The Hub will open at 10am on Tuesday 10 February.

Please note: If you hold a British or Irish passport and you’ve completed your Online Registration and Enrolment before Monday 26 January, your Smartcard should be ready for collection on the days specified below, and you won’t need to go through the additional document checks.

If you’re a distance learner or online student, you can request a student ID card by contacting your Programme Support Officer on request.

Please be aware that you will need to bring the following documents with you to complete your enrolment:

  • Your passport (only your passport can be accepted as proof of identity)
  • Any previous visas for the UK and all other relevant immigration documents
  • Before you see us at The Hub, please generate a share code for your right to study (not work or rent).

Staff will check these documents and you may need to speak to our Finance team before we can complete your enrolment. You will then be given your student ID card.

You must complete your enrolment before the final late start date which was agreed and communicated to you by our International Admissions Team.
