In summer 2020, BU’s Alumni Relations Team put out a call to find the brightest young graduates (aged 29 and under) for our inaugural 30 under 30 campaign. The response did not disappoint, and the final line-up represents a wealth of talent across a diverse range of sectors including health, marketing and advertising, journalism and finance. A huge congratulations to our final 30. You should be justifiably proud of your achievements which will serve to inspire the next generation of young talent.

David Oluwabusayomi Adeloye

After graduating from MSc Tourism Management in 2015, 28-year-old David has become a Teaching Fellow at the University of Otago in New Zealand.

Gemma Alcock

A BA (Hons) Design Business Management graduate, 27-year-old Gemma is the Founder and CEO of SkyBound Rescuer.

Tom Beasley

A freelance film journalist, 26-year-old Tom has written for a range of major publications and interviewed Hollywood big-hitters since graduating from Multimedia Journalism.

Jake Martyn Bogira

BA (Hons) Advertising graduate and 25-year-old Jake has travelled the world working with a range of iconic brands, while campaigning for greater diversity in the advertising industry.

Cris Bowyer

An Athlete Partnership Manager at Facebook, 26-year-old Cris graduated with a BSc (Hons) Marketing in 2017.

Jim Compton-Hall

Jim has built up his own business since graduating in 2012, producing award-winning advertising creative for some of the biggest brands around the world.

Ferris Di Valentino

Ferris graduated from BA (Hons) Business Studies with Economics in 2019, and the 25-year-old is already making a big impression in the world of finance.

Fleurie Forbes-Martin

At 28 years old, Fleurie was named a BIMA 100 Rising Star - an award recognising the 100 brightest members of the digital industry.

Charlotte Gay

Charlotte’s career in radio has already seen her awarded the Radio Academy’s 30 under 30 award, and several IRN award nominations.

Lottie Gross

A freelance journalist, 29-year-old Lottie has worked with major publications and broadcasters since getting her first big break with Rough Guides.

Sa'id Haruna

Sa’id began a charity project during his first year at BU which was later incorporated into a non-profit organisation.

Nathaniel Hawley

Nat’s work as a neurodiversity champion and advocate for people with learning differences, such as autism, has led to him being nominated for a Pride of Britain Award and recognised by HRH, The Prince of Wales. 

Paige Hobart

Paige has built a career in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) working with brands including Harvey Nichols, Clarks, Rightmove and The National Lottery.

Kirsty Hughes

After completing her studies, Kirsty took up a job in the global technology department at McDonald’s where she had previously completed her university placement. 

Matthew Hughes

Matt co-founded Aurora Demand while still studying at BU, and since graduating has grown the company to become an award-winning marketing agency with an international reach. 

Kiratsinh Jadeja

Kiratsinh has been named as one of the 200 Best Digital Artists in the World by German advertising publication, Luerzer's Archive. 

Harley Johnson

Harley has taken his degree in English to build a career in digital marketing which has involved work with some of the world’s biggest brands. 

April Langton

April is breaking new ground in approaches to mental health nursing within secure settings. 

Vera Ivanova Markova

During her final year at BU, Vera won a volunteering abroad scholarship from the Global Horizons Program and went on to spend two years volunteering for a reforestation project in India. 

Dev Mistry

A successful university placement with Honda gave Dev his first step on the career ladder after graduation. 

Jonny Mounsor

Jonny began his career as a radio producer for the BBC. He went on to become a presenter for TalkSPORT before leaving the world of broadcast to become a digital content manager for a start-up. 

Georgia Murray

Since graduating, Georgia has worked on national and global PR campaigns and has recently joined Tesco to help manage the retailer's PR agency.

Declan Paul

Declan has made substantial contributions to the games industry in the relatively short time he has been a part of it. He has helped build a globally respected studio and has worked on some of the largest franchises gaming has to offer.

Roshan Roberts

Roshan was selected from more than 4,500 applicants for BBC3’s flagship production trainee scheme, recognised as the industry’s gold standard for training. 

Priyanka Sharma

Priyanka works in learning and development for Places for People, one of the largest property management, development, regeneration and leisure companies in the UK.

Mollie Taylor

Having made a great impression during a placement with the Ranger Team at Hengistbury Head in Dorset, Mollie was offered immediate employment and has continued to lead groundbreaking work in conservation.

Sam Thomson

While at BU, Sam’s final year project focused on eliminating the taboo surrounding seeking help for sexual violence victims of all genders. He has gone on to become the first Outreach and Engagement Officer for SurvivorsUK. 

Ryan Toddington

Having graduated in 2016, Ryan embarked on a graduate scheme within Atos. He began as a Project Analyst within the Metropolitan Police Service before joining the International Olympics Committee.

Ikechukwu Ugwu

Having completed his studies with distinction, Ikechukwu has gone on to work as a legal practitioner in Nigeria. 

Ashley Warner

After graduating, Ashley moved to Norway where he set up his own sports massage company. He has now moved on to work for Norway’s second largest fitness firm.
