If you are feeling under the weather, you don’t need to struggle on your own. Here’s what you need to know.

If you have an infectious disease such as flu or Covid-19, please do not come onto campus. Please stay home and recover. Try to avoid contact with other people until you no longer have a high temperature (if applicable) or until you feel better.

If you are unwell and need support, the university is here to help you, so please get in touch with us via the AskBU team.

You can self-certify your period of illness, if you are sick for up to five days. There is further information on the exceptional circumstances webpage.

If you think your illness will affect your studies or research, please take a look at the exceptional circumstances policy. You can also talk to your Personal Tutor, Programme Leader, Programme Support Officer or supervisor.

You can find up-to-date support, including local services, on our Student Wellbeing webpages where we have put together a list of online wellbeing resources for any health or wellbeing issues you experience while at BU.

If you are travelling to England from abroad, there is currently no requirement to take a Covid-19 test before your departure or to quarantine when you arrive here. However, there may be restrictions in the country you are travelling from or from your airline, so do make sure to check these before travelling.
