Bailey Point

Bailey Point is owned and operated by BU's accommodation partner, Yugo, who will be your landlord. You will pay your rent to Yugo and any queries or issues you might have during your time will be dealt with by Yugo's dedicated on-site team.

Yugo has signed Bailey Point up to The National Code, which has been developed to encourage the highest possible standards of student accommodation provided by large private operators. Find out more about the code and how it benefits you.

ResLifeBU is an exclusive programme, only available in BU accommodation, designed to help you enjoy your time in student accommodation to the fullest. 

Our ResLifeBU Team supports you across three core areas:

• Social – providing inclusive activities and events to help you meet your fellow students and build a great community
• Wellbeing – supporting your welfare, health, safety and overall comfort and security
• Skills – everything you need for your new independent life, from how to keep your flat clean, to cooking an affordable and healthy meal and tips on managing your budget

£1.75 of your weekly rent goes towards the funding of the programme – but if you make the most of it, you’ll find it’s worth so much more than that.

• The U1 and U4 university bus services pick up from right outside and take between 10 and 15 minutes to get to our Talbot Campus. Your annual bus pass is included in your rent so you can use these services as much as you need throughout the year, although you can opt out of this at the point of booking if you choose
• Your annual bus pass also includes unlimited travel on Morebus zone A services, spanning the wider Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area
• If cycling is more your thing then the site has secure bike storage and is just a 10 minute ride to the Talbot Campus, where again there is ample secure storage
• And if you’re travelling further afield, the main train and bus station is just minutes away with trains running into London Waterloo taking approx 2hrs
• There is no car parking available at Bailey Point, except for Blue Badge holders.

Your weekly rent includes contents insurance. Find out more about the level of cover. 

Your bedroom and common room has high-speed wifi for work and play.

All of your bills are included in your weekly rent so you have nothing further to pay.

As well as having CCTV in the building and secure access, there is also a Bailey Point team member onsite 24 hours a day to provide any help you might need.

The onsite team includes a maintenance operative who will be able to respond and resolve any faults for you in a timely manner.

There is also a ResLifeBU Team who are on hand if you have any wellbeing concerns and they also organise regular social events.

The laundrette at Bailey Point charges from £3.80 per wash and £2.30 for the dryers.

Students have shared and joint liability for all communal areas within their flat such as corridors, shared bathrooms (for non-ensuite accommodation) and kitchens, and must keep them clean, tidy and in good condition at all times. They must keep their rooms and ensuites clean and damage free.

When you’re ready to book a room, you can do so via our Accommodation Portal.

Once you have reserved your room via our Accommodation Portal we will pass your details over to Yugo, who will then send you further information on how to go on to book and secure your room. Your accommodation contract and rent payments will then be with Yugo, who own and operate Bailey Point.
