Bournemouth University is a great place to cycle. Located between the New Forest and the Purbecks, and with its miles of promenade, Bournemouth offers a great location to jump on two wheels, whether you are commuting to university or cycling for leisure. At BU we also provide lots of facilities and services for cyclists on campus including secure cycle compounds and locker storage.
You can get access to the secure cycle compounds which are available at both Talbot and Lansdowne Campuses with your student ID card; just visit Poole House reception on Talbot Campus to update your card. There are lockers, changing rooms and showers available for students and staff, find out more about the cycle facilities on campus.
BU by Bike scheme
Find out about the university bike scheme BU by Bike, which aims to make cycling at BU more accessible and gives you the opportunity to cycle without splashing out a lot of money for a bike.
The Bike Doctor
The university also has a Bike Doctor Service to assist you with any bike related problems.The Bike Doctor service will be visiting both Talbot and Lansdowne campuses on a monthly basis.
Just take your bike and student ID with you. The labour is free, but any replacement parts will need to be paid for by individuals.

Active Travel Map
In order to help you travel to BU by foot or bike, the BU Active Travel Map will help you to plan your route safely. The map also shows you where you can find secure bike storage and other active travel related facilities on campus.
