  • Introducing BU’s 30 under 30 2023

Our 2023 30 under 30 winners are talented individuals from across the BU alumni community. This is the third year of our 30 under 30 competition, and once again, we have been hugely impressed by the achievements of our graduates, demonstrated at an early stage in their careers. Congratulations to the final 30, who are not only great ambassadors for BU but also an inspiration for the next generation.

Mohammad Tahsiin Auzim

Since graduating with a Master’s in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Mohammad has actively applied his knowledge as a Data Scientist at AeroCloud.

Chelsea-Lea Bates

After completing her degree, Chelsea-Lea joined the JP Morgan Graduate Program and has since joined the Asset Management part of the business as the new EMEA Revenue Lead.

Shadee Bazrcar

Since graduating from BU, Shadee has embarked on an entrepreneurial journey to become the Founder of Lunar Light Consultancy. 

Daniel Bennett

Daniel moved to Malta after graduating from BU, where he has gone on to become Head of Product at a global iGaming company, managing five brands.

Adam Bristow

In the seven years since his graduation, Adam has used his skills to develop his career with IFSE; a specialist in restaurant design and build.

Louise Burgess

Louise started her academic career with a research position at the Orthopaedic Research Institute (ORI) and is now a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science.

David Burnet

David is the founder of INVIDAR, which provides 3D solutions and immersive technology for projects including Samsung, Sony, Google, and Milwaukee Ryobi. The company has gone on to employ other BU graduates.

George Caton-Coult

Employed by LoveLove Films, George has been working on the 52-episode 3D preschool series Pop Paper City, which airs on Channel 5's 'Milkshake!' and is being distributed worldwide by Aardman Animations.

Katie Dennis

Katie has forged a career in social media data strategy and insight, recently joining Mindshare to lead primary-audience research, with a focus on tackling societal stigmas.

Lucy Edwards

As a Project Manager for BAE Systems, Lucy has worked in large-scale manufacturing while championing diversity in a male-dominated sector.

Daryl Fitzpatrick

Daryl has built a career in sales and is now Head of Business Development & Innovation at Intellek, where he has grown revenue and acquired new business.

Olivia Ford

Since studying BSc (Hons) in Marketing, Olivia has pursued a career in tech, joining Google's renowned Associate Product Marketing Manager program.

Matthew Frost

Following his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at BU, Matthew used his experience and knowledge to secure a Videographer role at Mash Media.

Elliot Frost

Since his graduation, Elliot has worked to apply the teachings of his BSc (Hons) Ecology and Wildlife Conservation degree on a range of conservation and ecology projects.

Amy Gardener

Amy is UK Education Client Director for Microsoft, where she supports central government clients to improve services through digital transformation.

Alex Graham

After graduating from BA (Hons) Radio Production in 2017, Alex worked in radio before going on to launch his own podcast production company where he works for clients including Hello! Magazine.

Hannah Gurr

Following her undergraduate degree, Hannah has had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people from different backgrounds as a Social Worker with Wiltshire Council. 

Glebs Kiselovs

After graduating from BU in 2017 with a BA (Hons) in Business with Marketing, Glebs embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by establishing Echoo Group. 

Ross Maguire

Since graduating from BU with a degree in computing, Ross has worked in sectors ranging from cosmetics to sustainability and is now a Full Stack Engineer with Connect Earth.

Laura Mann

Laura qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in August 2020 and went on to work at an inpatient child and adolescent mental health ward. She has invested in her professional development to become a Band 7 Mental Health Practitioner.

Tumisang Thabo Mbedzi

Tumisang graduated from BU in 2021 with a Master’s in Forensic Anthropology and Archaeology (Osteology pathway). Her research landed her a role as a Primary Investigator in a collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross. 

Priscilla Ng'ethe Koinange

After graduating from Bournemouth University in 2016, Priscilla set off on a global journey, diving into the exciting world of producing and presenting news and features for TV and radio. 

Shiavax Postwalla

Since leaving Bournemouth University four years ago, Shiavax’s career has taken an unexpected trajectory. From an economics degree, he ventured into the world of branding and marketing, attracted by the science behind building brands to meet consumer needs. 

Luke Rainbow

After completing his BSc (Hons) Computing, Luke embarked on a career path centred around delivering technology to create a better society, starting his journey with Leidos UK’s graduate scheme.

Daniel Sansom

After starting out with Sky Sports as a multi-media journalist, Daniel has now become a Football Journalist working to produce content across Sky Sports' digital channels.

Harvey Scott

Since graduating from BU, Harvey has embarked on a career journey driven by his passion for sustainability in the coffee industry.

Faye Stammers

Faye works as a Marketing Manager at the RNLI, putting into practice the elements of her BA (Hons) Communication & Media degree to deliver events and direct mail campaigns. 

Yasmin Syed

Yasmin became the tennis writer for Daily Express Sport in summer 2021 and was accepted into the British Tennis Journalists Association in 2022. 

Michael Thompsett

Since graduating, Michael has worked as an Academy Engagement Worker with the International Development Football Academy and trained to become a further education lecturer, specialising in sports psychology and coaching.

Alejandra Toro

Alejandra has drawn on her MSc in Nutrition and Behaviour from BU to build her career in Colombia, where she has introduced a revolutionary concept known as psycho-nutrition.
