We are the 5-star TeamBU Polo Club. We are open to anyone who wants be part of a fun, sociable and supportive team. You don’t need any riding or polo experience to join, polo is a sport for everyone. Most people who join have never even ridden a horse before. Lessons are weekly, based around your availability, but you don’t need to come to every session.
As a club, we compete at a number of university competitions every year. We are a successful team, having been placed several times at competitions. We train at Dorset Polo Club (20 minutes from uni) who provide coaching, ponies, equipment etc and we share lifts to the club for training. We have equipment you can borrow so you don’t need to worry about purchasing anything at the start.
We also love a night out every Wednesday. Members can purchase a sports A-list card which includes free entry and a table with prosecco every week. We are also good friends with other uni polo teams, with whom we frequently hold friendly tournaments, such as Plymouth, Winchester and Birmingham.
