Our staff have a broad mix of expertise covering marketing, tourism, consumer behaviour and, food choice and health as well as supply and sustainability. We maintain close links with practice and many have strong research profiles and publish in internationally recognised journals, while others have a wealth of business and practitioner experience or have strong academic credentials in teaching and education. All are research-active ensuring our courses are contemporary and highly regarded.
Our retail team has established a national presence in the area of eye-tracking research in retail outlets on behalf of ‘Which’ magazine. Members of the team have featured in the national media both demonstrating the technology used as well as explaining the significance of their findings. This complements the research and advisory relationship between the department and Waitrose, who continue to support the post of the Waitrose Retail Fellowship within the department.
A number of professional bodies have accredited courses in our undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio. This includes accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) across all of the department’s courses.
