Set within state–of–the–art facilities, design and engineering at Bournemouth is both well established and industry accredited. Making use of our Design Centre, where you'll find modern laboratories and workshops featuring industry-standard facilities and the latest rapid 3D printing, prototyping and manufacturing equipment, our graduates are well-equipped for industry success.
Accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED), the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Engineering Council, our courses are continually scrutinised to ensure they reflect both the needs of industry and society. A placement year in industry for all our students means they graduate with work experience as well as a degree from a professionally recognised course. Our annual showcase of final year student work, The Festival of Design and Engineering, also provides them with the opportunity to network with industry and publicly display their designs.
It is not only our graduates who are innovators and entrepreneurs within their careers - our staff are involved in a number of interdisciplinary research projects that have resulted in the development of new products that have had an impact on a local, national and international scale.
