The OCCE 2024 will provide a forum for new research results, practical experiences, developments, ideas, and national perspectives, related to the conference focus and themes for all levels of education (preschool, primary, secondary, higher, vocational, and lifelong learning), including the professional development of educators (teachers, trainers and academic and support staff at other educational institutions) and related questions on educational management.

The conference will aim to explore the impact of technology across a range of user experiences including those of students, staff and management. This will create an interesting creative tension during the conference.

Conference themes 

This year's focus will be “Digitally Transformed Education: Are We There Yet?” as a continuation from the IFIP TC3 OCCE 2021 DTEL Tampere, Finland conference theme, “Digital transformation of educational and learning – past, present and future”.

The conference will focus on the contribution and potential of digitalisation and digital transformation in school, vocational, professional and higher education or lifelong learning. There were several digitalisation efforts noted at the 2021 conference, but the key questions are:

  • Are we there yet?
  • Has digital transformation been realised in education?
  • If not, what are we missing? If yes, what are the best practices, success stories and lessons generated from the experience?

Call for papers

We invite you to submit your work to OCCE 2024 which will enable you to:

  • Take an active role and be involved in discussions to consider concerns and approaches for the future of technology for empowering learning, teaching, training and professional development with digital technologies in the different cultures and parts of the world
  • Share knowledge and ideas about the rapidly emerging practices of Computer Science Education (CSE) and the important role that CSE has in educating creators of the future
  • Access latest research and business solutions that have been transformed into educational best practice, where outcomes are recognised and identified
  • Network with world-leading teachers, educators, professionals and technologists as well as with strategy and policy experts.
