A global sales and marketing company is growing its business with support from a pipeline of Bournemouth University graduates.
EIMS, which has offices in Bournemouth, Barcelona, Miami and Auckland, currently employs around 30 BU alumni. It is also increasing opportunities for new graduates through internships.
Richard Washington is Business Director at EIMS headquarters in Bournemouth. He graduated from BU with a BA (Hons) in Leisure Marketing in 2005. Richard said: “BU gave me a great platform to develop my knowledge in marketing and business, whilst encouraging me to be creative in the way that I approach work. I met many great people at BU and when you get a load of like-minded people together, who are all working on the common goal of developing themselves, that is a special place to be.”
EIMS was founded in 1996 to provide sales and marketing support to the ICT industry. Today its clients include Adobe, Hitachi and IBM and its services include helping clients to launch new products, break into new markets and improve the efficiency of their sales and marketing strategies.
Leanne Bowring is a Trainee Team Manager. She said: “I studied marketing at BU and graduated in the summer of 2017. My course provided me with a great understanding of the marketing fundamentals and I now feel as though I have the ability to progress in a career I am passionate about. At EIMS, I am able to put my knowledge into practice and improve my skills. I started off as a Business Development Agent and I am now on a fast track programme to becoming a manager – all within a year of graduating.”
EIMS is building its relationship with BU by delivering careers boot camps for current students and attending the annual careers fair. Gosia Motta, Global Executive Search Recruiter at EIMS, said: “BU students are great young professionals and it does not take them long to adjust to a business environment. We value their desire to learn and ability to express their own opinions, so a BU degree on the CV is something that always attracts my attention.”
